how to reserve your rentals

  • We do! The rental minimum applies only to delivery orders, before the 10% picture perfect fee and signature delivery/installation/retrieval fee are assessed.

    The minimums are calculated based on mileage between your venue and our warehouse.

    < 40 miles (Detroit, Ann Arbor, Chelsea, Monroe, Rochester): $1000

    40-80 miles (Lansing, Jackson, Flint, Holly, Armada): $2000

    80-150 miles (Grand Rapids, Mt. Pleasant, Frankenmuth, Kalamazoo, Port Austin): $3000

    >150 miles (Traverse City, Charlevoix, Holland, Saugatuck): $5000

  • Once you have your event date, get in touch with us and we can let you know if we still have the date and items available. Since many of our rentals are available in limited quantities or are unique pieces, they can book up quickly!

    For weddings, we typically receive inquiries about 6-8 months out from the date, though some bookings are made a year or more in advance. Tables, chairs, and bars usually get reserved first, so we recommend reaching out sooner than later for those items!

    For corporate events or other social events, we typically receive inquiries about 2 months out from the date, though shorter lead times can be accommodated depending on availability.

  • Build your dream wishlist or reach out to us directly to start the process. We’ll check the availability of the rentals you’re interested in and provide you with a rental proposal to review. Rentals will be placed on hold for 14 days to give you time to review and reserve your order.

    Once you’re ready to move forward, we’ll provide you with a unique client invoice link to e-sign our rental agreement and pay a 50% non-refundable deposit. And that’s it until we get closer to your event date! The final payment is due 10 days before your event date.

  • Browse our rentals collection and create a wishlist by “hearting” the items you’re interested in for your event. Submit your wishlist once it is complete and we’ll get back to you on item availability for your event date.

  • Yes! We’d love to have you visit our showroom and warehouse. You can schedule your appointment here or email hello@modernlyevents.com. We’re looking forward to meeting you!

  • We know guest counts and plans can change, so you have until 10 days before your event date to make changes to your order. Your final payment is also due at this time and will be updated based on any final changes. Changes may include adjusting chair and table quantities per the final guest count, adding rentals to your order, or swapping out items for other items.

  • All delivery orders receive our signature delivery/installation/retrieval service!

    Our delivery crew will unload your rentals to a designated area; assemble and place your rentals per your floor plan, mock-up, and/or planner instructions; perform a final cleaning of all rentals before the delivery crew leaves; and return after your event ends, either the same night or the next day, to disassemble and remove your rentals from your event location.

    This service fee is calculated for your specific event needs based on order size, required labor, mileage, and complexity of delivery (i.e. stairs, long distance between designated area and parking, etc.).

  • Yes! Most of our rentals are available for will-call. There is no rental order minimum for will-call orders. Will-call orders are typically picked up from our warehouse the Wednesday or Thursday before your event date and returned the following Monday or Tuesday after your event date, assuming a weekend event date.

caring for your rentals

  • Accidents happen, especially when the party really gets going! This is why we assess a 10% mandatory, non-refundable damage and cleaning fee on all delivery and rental orders.

    This covers the normal (and expected!) wear and tear our rentals experience over the course of an event, as well as the expense of cleaning or repairing what we consider to be minor damages (scratches, dents, wax spills, food/drink spills). All rentals are cleaned before and after your event.

    Damages or cleaning that ultimately requires replacement or significant professional repair that costs more than the 10% fee will be assessed at 2 or 3 times the item’s rental fee and will be billed to the client.

  • If the weather takes a turn for the worst, we ask that you move rental items under shelter (tent, garage, indoors) or cover them (we will provide tarps if the weather forecast looks uncertain). This is especially important for our upholstered pieces and wood surfaces to prevent water stains, warping, and long-term water damage! We appreciate you protecting our furniture!
